Inspiring Students to Stay in School and Plan for Success

For many students, the transition from high school to post-secondary education or employment can be overwhelming. Students discover how their choices, interests, and strengths connect to future careers, explore post-secondary options, and learn budgeting skills that can positively impact their future.

Volunteers from the local business community partner with classroom teachers to help students see the link between education and achieving their goals.

Setting Goals and Seizing Opportunity

During this in-class program, students use games and multimedia to:

  • Identify a long-term goal and the steps to achieve it

  • Consider different post-secondary options and opportunities

  • Develop a monthly budget for independent living

  • Create a personal brand profile

  • Explore how new opportunities and building skills for success can help them achieve their future career goals

By the end of the program, students will learn how their choices can positively impact their future dreams and outcomes. This will help them set goals, seize opportunities, and create a future that fuels their passions.
